Multiply 365 Day 159 - Defending Weiner's weener

I don't want to be here.  i would rather be just about anyplace else, even work.  And we all know how much I have been bitching about that recently.  Still, it looks like I am going to have to defend Representative Anthony Weiner, not because I want to, but because he hasn't broken the law.  And really at the end of the day, that is usually my standard when it comes to elected officials.

Do I think it is right that Rep Weiner who, while married, was sending pictures of himself and his junk to other women online?  Of course not, but that is not a crime, that is just repulsive behavior.  Certainly there is nothing fireable about what he did, and those that wish to see him removed are doing so for one of two reasons, either in hopes of gaining another seat in the House of Representative or in hopes that if he goes away they will no longer have to answer questions about him and risk Weiner backlash (and wouldn't that be an all male porn title) in their own district.

At the end of the day though, it is the people of his district who should get to make that call come the next election cycle.  If they still wish to be representated by a scumbag, it's on them, just as it is on them for putting him in the House to begin with.  Unless he has actually broken a law, there are no grounds for his removal, nor is there any reason for him to volunteer to give up his seat, save for the shame of knowing that the remainder of his term will be answering questions regarding Weinergate.  Now what his wife may or may not want to do with him is a different matter, but that is between he and her.  But what Rep Weiner should do as far as his career is concerned is solely up to him, and not those who urge him to leave soley for their own benefit.

  1. I agree he didn't commit any crimes. It isn't like anyone is coming forward to say he sexually harassed anyone. I guess I have a different take on this because I'm a nude art model. I'm use to naked pictures of me being all over the place. So to me this is something between him and his wife. It shouldn't be a big deal. Ok he should have been upfront about it from the beginning but if he wanted to explain himself to his wife first ok then.

  2. I agree he probably should have been upfront about it, but the outrage from both the left and the right on this issue is not based on any platform of morality, but only to further their own agendas. The media certainly should cover this, it is a story when an elected official is sending pictures of their stuff to people, but beyond that I really don't care what opinion John Boehner or Nancy Pelsoi have on the matter. If the republic is going to fall because of a penis, then we have far bigger problems than we originally thought.

  3. There is suddenly this big morality push from the biggest bunch of deviants around. I find it somewhat humorous at their abhorrence to this, yet my guess they have done worse. It's just no one has outed them yet.

  4. Good thing Rep Weiner doesn't read my blog. Had he seen you were a nude art model, he might have been sending you pics as well.

  5. Yeah but I wouldn't let him go that far that he'd feel comfortable with that.
