Multiply Day 365 Day 34 - More behind the lines nonsense

I was worried what I would be able to write about today. Truth be told, I had no ideas whatsoever.  Thankfully stupidity saved me.  No my own stupidity, though that has bailed me out on the page from time to time, but rather this.  Every time I think the city can't outdo itself with the nonsense taking place, I am reminded that tomorrow is another day and another chance to climb the mountain of idiocy.  Roughly 65% of students in the Pittsburgh Public Schools actually graduate (http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/s_652881.html)  but that's okay, just make sure they get to watch the football game.  More bread, more circuses.

City schools have 2-hour delay on day after Super Bowl
Thursday, February 03, 2011

Pittsburgh Public Schools has announced it will have a two-hour delay on Monday, the morning after the Super Bowl.

District spokeswoman Ebony Pugh said the delay is "for the safety of our students."

She said, "As you know, with Super Bowl comes a lot of Super Bowl parties and such. We just feel it's best not to have our students out very early with people who have been up late."

She said she was referring to "people out on the road who may be out early after having a very late night and other things that come with celebration of the Super Bowl."

The district had a similar delay the last time the Steelers were in the Super Bowl.
