......The FRANCHISE that the kid from NOVA SCOTIA CANADA saved! I still think hed look good in a Red Wing uniform on a powerplay with Datsyuk and Zetterberg! Lmfao
ReplyDeleteLemieux did far more to save the franchise than Crosby, including taking the last 26 million left in his final contract in ownership of the team when they were near bankruptcy, and then managing under his leadership to pay off all of the creditors the Pens had. The Kansas City stuff was just a ruse, which lemieux admitted to, to get the new arena, which is in the process of being built. By that point, the Pens were certainly solvent enough that they had no intention of leavinbg a market where they sell out all of their games.
ReplyDeleteLemieuxs era financially was vastly far worse for the franchise thats true! Winning 2 stanley cups there back then built a strong base for the franchise. Crosby as good as he is or can be will NEVER top Marios stats or be as good as Mario was in my opinion. The game has changed since the early 90s but even so Crosby will never dominate the game like Mario did. If Crosby hadnt grown up 6 miles from where im sitting i wouldnt be a fan of his. Hes very good, but id take Malkin over him if i had to choose. Id still love to see Crosby on my Red Wings on their powerplay though with Datsyuk & Zetterberg! LoL
