Dumpster diving paying off

I have mentioned previously that I have ben picking up soda caps that are laying on the ground and adding the codes on them to my accounts.  Amazingly, or maybe not so much, every cap that I have found to this point has been one that hasn't been previously entered, once again people throwing things of perfectly good value away for no reason whatsoever.  What pray tell did I do with some of my caps you may ask?  Well, as well as giving a song away on a previous blog entry (though I really don't know if anyone claimed it or not), I put together this for my own listening pleasure.  For you I expect it will just hurt your ears.

  2. Pretty cool! I'm a freebie junkie myself. I like getting fun stuff without having to pay for it.

  4. Coke and Pepsi both just give away points on their caps for now, you collect points and can redeem them for sweepstakes entries or other cool merchandise, though I haven't seen the ceramic dalmation from the old Wheel of Fortune yet, that would be something to shoot for. Coke just happened to be running a special on their music downloads in Feb., only 15 pts each (usually they are 33 pts). I think the exchange rate is 20oz bottle - 1pt, 2 liter - 3 pts, 12 pack - 12 pts and 24 pack - 24 pts, so a case of Coke last month technically came with at least one free tune.

The hardest part was getting the music uploaded to imeem, because while some of it was mp3, others were rax files, so I had to burn the music to cd, then bring it to work, rip it, open it in cool edit as a wave file, resave it as an mp3 and then upload the mp3 version to imeem.

  8. Hummm, I throw the caps away too. Maybe I should start being a little more "daring" in life.

  9. Bungy jumping is daring, sky diving is daring, hand feeding sharks is daring. Thinking collecting bottle caps is daring? Someone needs a life lol

  10. It is daring, I could reach in and pull out a rat or something. Actually, I may have found another 8 points for Pepsi last night, I found 4 12 packs on top of a pile of trash, so I had to grab those codes. If there are good and haven't been entered yet, that is at least one more free tune.

  11. An they were good, so now I could technically cash in my points for an arm band ipod holder. Of course that would require me to have an ipod, which I don't think will b e a purchase any time soon.
