MLB has been very anal about copyright stuff this year, as if they didn't have enough on their plate. What happened was a fly ball was hit to Bradley in the outfield and after catching it, he tossed it into the crowd, the problem being their was only one out and two runners on base (first and third), so the runner from third scored (he probably would have scored on the sac fly anyway) and the runner on first ended up on third basse.
The difference between the Cubs and Pirates is that the Cubs at least try. We will never pony up the money to try to field a remotely competitive team. Milwaukee is two thirds our size, yet their payoll is 30 million dollars more. Once you become infected with the team will not try attitude, it becomes much easier to just tune them out completely. Hockey is over here now, so sports doesn't fire up again until August when the Steelers go to training camp.
The video can no longer be seen due to copyright issues. What was it?

Typical of the Chicago Cubs. Remember Leon Durham missing the easy ground ball that lost the ('85?) World Series?
ReplyDeleteI'm a cubs fan. I was watching this game. I laughed.
ReplyDeleteOh well. It's the whole Chicago thing, so they fit in. All the teams in chicago are loveable losers. Its just the way it is.
Besides, he doesnt need to do well, hes got all that Monopoly money to fall back on. *har har*
He does have that, the Cubs pay him in the ballpark of $7 million per season and right now he couldn't hit my grandmother if she was tied to a chair.
ReplyDeleteI was infected with the Cubs virus as a child in Gary, Indiana... From them I learned losing gracefully.
